Our backgroundRachelle Barnett

Rachelle Barnett – Director

Rachelle Barnett founded Inspire Communications Ltd in 2004.

The agency provides expert advice across the communications disciplines. It draws on Rachelle’s experience of developing and delivering proactive communications strategy, crisis management, media planning, event management, fundraising, design and rebranding, marketing, writing and editing.

Rachelle started her career as an events manager for L&Q Housing Trust. Publicising the events lead to a press officer role at the London Borough of Merton. Building on this media experience, Rachelle then managed the extremely busy press and PR activity for The Royal British Legion’s £26million Poppy Appeal and all its fundraising activity on a national, regional and local basis for three years. This included: business-to-business and corporate fundraising; direct mail; and events. She was promoted to handle the press and PR for its welfare work.

Her final role before creating Inspire Communications was in communications management the NHS at the National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse, managing publications and media.

Rachelle said: “Seeing someone respond and take the action you want as a direct result of your communications activity is the best reward for strategic planning and meticulous delivery. Helping clients to bring good communications practice into the heart of their organisation can transform their business.”

Rachelle has a BA in Latin and English literature, a Postgraduate Diploma in Publishing Studies, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She does voluntary work with the National Childbirth Trust, including hosting events and writing articles.
